A competitive GRE score can strengthen your university application and demonstrate your readiness for advanced academic study.

Score range of- SAT

The SAT is scored on a scale of 400–1600, made up of two sections – Reading & Writing (200–800) and Math (200–800) – added together for your total score. There’s no official expiry date for SAT scores, but most universities prefer scores from within the last 2 years.

SAT- Exam Fee

The SAT costs $111 USD (base fee of $68 plus a $43 international surcharge), which comes to approximately $130.98 after applicable fees. Since this fee is charged in US dollars, the amount in Indian Rupees changes daily based on the exchange rate – currently around ₹12,500–13,000, but this can shift. Unlike some exams, the SAT doesn’t charge a separate retake fee, so you pay the same amount every time you sit for the test.

No, the SAT score is used only for university admission, not for the US student visa (F-1) process. However, a strong academic profile, including a competitive SAT score, can help you secure admission to a stronger university, which in turn supports your visa application. See our visa guidance page for more on the visa process.

While the SAT is most widely used by US universities, some universities in Canada, Singapore, and a few other countries also accept SAT scores for undergraduate admission. Confirm with your target university’s admission requirements.
